The Life of Mine is 5 years during which 6 Million tons ROM will be extracted from the opencast and underground operations.
Pre-approved Eskom grade coal will be supplied directly to Eskom’s Duvha, Arnot, Komati, Hendrina and Kendal Power Stations. ROM is also washed to export grade and sent via rail and road to Richards Bay Coal Terminal for supply to the export market.
Elandspruit Opencast
IPC opened the East Block in May 2013 and to date have mined 455,000 tons of coal and successfully delivered to all their clients. In Q1 2014 the West Block will be opened and it is expected to yield 40,000 tons ROM per month.
Elandspruit Underground
Underground mining will commence in mid 2015 with an expected yield of 1,5 Million tons.
